As colder weather approaches, I’ve found myself switching up my skincare routine with products that will keep skin clean, clear, and fresh, but also very well hydrated. I have normal/dry skin but when the air gets dry and cold, my skin tends to start flaking usually around the cheeks and on the nose. Hydration plays a major part in my routine all-year round but I definitely amp it up during this time of year. Since so many of you like my skincare favorites and roundup posts, today I have a roundup of tried-and-true products that help me with my dry skin, but that also add that extra boost of moisture for the Winter months!
Toning is absolutely essential to my routine, I do it twice a day and in the morning it functions as a face cleanser in lieu of an actual cleansing product. I know I’m kind of late to this party but I discovered the magic of the Son & Park Beauty Water a few months back and wow, has it been a game changer! This has natural willow bark and papaya extract that mildly exfoliates to help sweep away dead skin cells, revealing brighter skin tone and smoother texture. It’s only been a few months but I have noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s texture. It’s also more hydrating than some of the previous toners I’ve used and very refreshing.
Face mists are low-key my most favorite step in my skincare routine. My collection has grown quite a bit of the years but if there’s one that I always keep going to, it’s the Caudalie Grape Water. This has been my ride or die face mist for years. I like to spray this on morning and night between the essence and serum steps for an added boost of hydration. It’s just a great refreshing multi-purpose spray that is super hydrating and even feels slightly cooling on the skin.
Hydration is such an important element of my everyday routine because the more hydrated your skin is, the healthier, radiant and more youthful it appears. So it’s important to find a moisturizer that works for your skin type equally for your skin concerns. Typically I carefully select moisturizers based on dual-focus formulas that target both hydration as well as anti-aging, and preferably anti-acne but this is not a requirement. A moisturizer I utterly fell in love with is the Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb. It’s a luxurious, lightweight gel-cream designed to provide intensive hydration and minimize the appearance of pores for soft, smooth, supple feel. While the cream is primarily a hydration formula, it also reduces the appearance of wrinkles and lines, leaving skin smooth, plump and luminous. This one is just perfect in terms of texture. It’s non-irritating, absorbs quickly but has more than enough moisture to make the skin look and feel well-hydrated.
For intense hydration I rely heavily on sheet masks to get by, but ever since discovering overnight sleep masks these have become a total game changer for me. One of the best moisturizing sleeping mask I’ve discovered so far is the Belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask (reviewed here). This is easily one of the most hydration-concentrated mask I’ve ever tried. It’s an overnight mask that rejuvenates and replenishes dull, dry, and tired skin with explosive hydration for a smoother, more supple-looking complexion with a healthy glow. After using this at night I find in the morning that my skin is plump, firm and thoroughly hydrated but also well nourished.
