Marc Jacobs Beauty has launched a few new additions to their Coconut Collection. This year they’ve launched the Coconut Fantasy Collection which includes a brand new Coconut Gel Highlighter in the beautiful shade Fantasy, the Fantascene Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette, the Finish Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder and the return of the O!Mega Bronzer. I picked up all four items during the recent Sephora Spring sale. The item I am the most excited about is the Fantasy Coconut Gel Highlighter. I’ve been so obsessed with last year’s Dew You? shade (reviewed here) that I was dying to try this one since it’s rose gold! The Coconut Fantasy Collection is currently in stock on Sephora’s website as well as Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Here we have a closer look at the new items. The Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy is a lightweight rose gold gel-formula highlighter that has a smooth texture with a quick dry-down. The smooth consistency makes it easy to spread and blend directly onto the skin, as well as to mix in with other liquid or cream-based products. It has basic sheer coverage that is buildable to medium and greater without emphasizing any common skin concerns like pores or texture. The gel is very concentrated and a little goes a long way. One drop can cover my entire forearm while achieving medium coverage. When mixing Fantasy in with foundation it did darken my base a bit. Fantasy has a redness to it than can either darken or tint the base when not having the right product ratios in place. You kind of have to experiment to see how much of the Dew Drops to put in versus the amount of foundation you use.

The O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic! is a really nice soft matte bronzer that is like a warm medium to dark brown with subtle rosy undertones. It has an incredibly smooth and silky consistency that blends effortlessly on the skin. Pigment is very good and wears well over 8 hours before slowly starting to fade. Usually I prefer shimmer in my bronzers because matte finishes tend to cause my face to fall flat and look one-dimensional but the O!Mega Bronzer is the complete opposite and does not appear too matte or dry.

The Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene is a beautiful summery neutral medley featuring pinks, corals, browns and a shimmering gold. The colors are well coordinated to where they all work very nicely together but there is enough variation between each shade so that they don’t end up looking identical on the eyes. Fantascene has an ultra rich pigment with a soft, velvety texture. The shades are so easy to layer and blend and has the same long-lasting plush formula as the original Eye-conic palettes. This palette is pure love for me.

Lastly is the Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder. This is one of the most hydrating translucent powders I’ve ever tried. Since I do have super dry skin in the under-eye region most colorless setting powders are too drying which causes heavy settling and that overly powdery look. The Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder has a silky texture and colorless finish. The loose translucent powder features five forms of coconut and cocoa butter, which melt undetectably for a healthy and hydrated look – not dry or chalky. It’s lightweight but there’s definitely a before-and-after effect once you apply it in terms of a subtle transformation that it helps to blur lines and pores but doesn’t make them disappear completely. This has a natural finish but is slightly more matte compared to my favorite Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. It doesn’t make the skin look flat nor is the soft-matte finish drying in any capacity. My makeup looks fresh from morning until late evening.
Overall I think the Marc Jacobs Beauty Coconut Fantasy Collection is absolute perfection. Not one item was off the mark. I can’t pick a favorite from the collection but I do highly recommend the Fantasy Dew Drops or the O!Mega Bronzer in case you missed out on it last year. The Fantasy Dew Drops are going to be a hit or miss depending on your skin tone since it is much more reddish in tone than last year’s Dew You? shade. I really love it but am still having slight troubles hitting the right ratio to blend it in with my foundation to where it doesn’t darken my base too much or look like I have a slight sunburn. I have been using it more as a standalone highlighter which it is stunning for, by the way. The eyeshadow palette is beyond beautiful as well.
