Sephora Beauty Insider Sale Event Details and Recommendations

April 6, 2018

The Sephora Beauty Insider Spring Bonus Event is taking place starting next week and I have gathered together a roundup of recommendations of my favorite items and wishlist picks. As a total beauty junkie who started prepping for the Spring sale in January, it was quite the challenge to narrow down my list but I managed to edit it down to current loves organized by category for convenience. Many of you are makeup addicts like me but I know a lot of you prefer skincare or hair products instead so I covered a little bit of everything here.

First let’s have a quick rundown of the Sephora sale dates and details along with their respective codes:

1st weekend

  • 4/13 – 4/16 ROUGE will receive 15% off using code YAYROUGE

2nd weekend

  • 4/20 – 4/23 ROUGE will receive 15% off using code YAYROUGE
  • 4/20 – 4/23 VIB will receive 15% off using code YAYVIB
  • 4/20 – 4/23 Beauty Insider will receive 10% off using code YAYINSIDER

Eye makeup recommendations

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills makes some seriously amazing eyeshadows, both in full palettes as well as singles. The Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette is a beautiful warm-toned palette that has a good mix of pigmented shimmers and creamy mattes perfect to create looks for the everyday as well as evening. I need another eyeshadow palette like I need a headache but this one has been on my radar since February for its soft tone – plus, I swatched it in store a couple times and oh my, that color payoff!
  • Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Palette (reviewed + swatched here) has been my favorite since Fall last year, I never tire of the colors and personally find it among the best from UD’s Naked series. Recently the Naked Petite Heat launched and this would be a great option for those who may want to pass on shimmers or who prefer a much more edited version
  • Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Eyeshadow Palette (reviewed + swatched here) is one of ND’s prettiest new launches for Summer. This is a great quality eyeshadow palette and a current favorite of mine
  • Everyone has been raving about the new Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Palettes and from the swatches I’ve seen and raves I’ve read I’m honestly beyond intrigued dying to get my hands on one of the options. That being said, I can’t seem to make up my mind whether I want the MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Ambition Eyeshadow Palette or the MTHRSHP Subliminal Platinum Bronze Eyeshadow Palette
  • Smashbox Super Fan Mascara (reviewed + demo here) is my newest discovery and suffice to say, new go-to for volume, definition and no-smudge formula

Base recommendations

  • Tatcha’s new highly raved-about The Silk Canvas Protective Primer is something I’ve been trying to get my hands on, for obvious reasons, since it launched but it keeps selling out everywhere and I keep missing the restock dates!
  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation SPF 25 (reviewed + swatched here) is one of my favorite liquid foundations for medium to full coverage but with a natural-looking finish that has a slight dew factor
  • After taking a year hiatus from it, the first thing to get on my list is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. After testing multiple formulas from a variety of brands for the last couple of months, there is just nothing that compares to coverage, pigment and finish
  • Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (reviewed here) is my all-time favorite, holy grail, Vegas approved setting spray for keeping my makeup in place Summer after 110-125 degree Summer. We’ve already been experiencing quite a slew of hot days already this Spring and I have a feeling I will be switching back to this spray full-time within the next two weeks or so
  • Amorepacific MOISTURE BOUND Tinted Treatment Moisturizer SPF 15 is literally the best for sheer to medium natural coverage and gives a serious flawless finish because it features a treatment formula that also works to optimize hydration levels and impart a youthful glow

Cheek makeup recommendations

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter is hands down my FAVORITE highlighter right now, reviewed + swatched here
  • Tom Ford everything forever has my heart, I really love anything from his line but if I could suggest you pick up one thing during this sale it would be the Shade and Illuminate Glow Stick in Sunstruck, reviewed + swatched here
  • The Natasha Denona Diamond & Blush Palettes have slowly grown on me for the shimmer, glow and color payoff, especially Darya
  • Another Anastasia cheek product that I’ve been obsessing over are their Powder Bronzers, reviewed + swatched here. Despite that these have a matte finish, which I’m not a fan of matte finish anything, I’ve been reaching for them almost daily
  • Hourglass launched the Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette (reviewed + swatched here) over the holidays but it is still available right now. This trio is the BEST for a strong yet still natural-looking glow. The formula is really exquisite and quality is excellent across the board. The powders are very well made

Lip recommendations

Skincare recommendations

  • Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb (reviewed here) is the best hydrating and lightweight eye cream I’ve ever used
  • Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask is absolutely amazing if you are prone to breakouts or acne, including cystic. This has literally worked wonders on keeping my skin completely clear for the most part. It balances the skin nicely and leaves it feeling soft, smooth and radiant. Whenever I do experience a breakout for whatever reason, I will use this as an overnight spot treatment and come morning the flareup is either resolved or diminished depending on its severity. My cystic breakouts can differ in severity depending on what caused it and how irritating it is to the skin, and are also much worse than a hormonal breakout – so sometimes I experience lesser flareups but also more chaotic ones. This mask was definitely one of the more impressive purchases from 2017
  • Neogen Dermalogy Day-Light Protection Sun Screen is a face sunscreen I’ve been really loving. I love how it absorbs right into my skin and has this clean, fresh scent to it. It feels moisturizing and wears really well under makeup, plus no white cast which is a major bonus. It does produce a dewy but not too shiny finish. It’s not greasy and so far I have not experienced a breakout
  • Olehenriksen Truth Serum Mini is one of my go-to serums for extra boosts in hydration as well as brightening and anti-aging
  • Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream I recently finished as a sample and WOW, is this stuff amazing?! It moisturizes deeply, improves skin health and works very well to minimize lines and add firmness all the while leaving my skin next-level soft. It’s super moisturizing but never gets greasy,it’s also not sticky and wears beautifully under makeup. Basically, this is the perfect moisturizer

Haircare recommendations

  • The Verb Ghost Oil has been a long-time staple in my haircare routine. Its very light and weightless but has incredible results. Hair looks healthy, shines and I truly feel that it keeps the Vegas heat from drying out my strands, especially the ends. I reviewed a couple of Verb’s best-sellers a while ago in this post here
  • IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo is a favorite for dry shampoo treatments between washes and a overall solid performer. It perfectly absorbs excess oils while adding a nice texture to my hair and a boost in volume. It also smells amazing and is color-safe
  • Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak is an AMAZING deep hydration treatment for hair, especially hair that is severely dehydrated, weakened by overexposure to sun, chemical-processing, or excessive heat styling. A literal lifesaver
  • Verb Ghost Hairspray is lightweight and perfect for everyday. It has a great hold but is not stiff nor does it leave hair dry and crunchy or sticky. I can actually run my fingers through my hair after application without disturbing the style and it has a very light, pleasant scent
  • Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer is still my favorite for pre-heat styling to this day

Fragrance and bath & body recommendations

  • Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc went straight on my list after I sampled it at the counter. It’s not as sharp as the original but is much more creamy and soft. Not overpowering and very Summer-ready
  • Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk I just finished the rollerball from and absolutely adore it
  • Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Fragrance Body Mist (reviewed here) is perhaps my most-worn fragrance
  • IGK Speechless Hair and Body Dry Oil Finishing Spray is a luxurious, lightweight dry finishing oil that you spray on to help you achieve supple, velvety-smooth, and refined skin texture. I spray this on right before I leave the house and my skin is not just moisturized but glows all day! It absorbs quickly with almost no effort and the scent is light and lovely. This genius formula also doubles as a hair mist to restore hair health by infusing intense hydration and powerful nutrients. I like to spray it on my ends for a nice shine without weighing hair down
  • Sol de Janeiro recently launched their Brazilian Bod Buff Smoothing Scrub ‘N’ Mask and I can’t wait to try it! This is a first-of-its-kind formula for the body that works double duty as a daily exfoliating scrub and a detoxifying treatment mask

That wraps up my top picks for recommendations organized by category! I’m in the process of editing my own list. At the moment I have quite a bit of skincare restocks or new items I’d like to try. I don’t really have any hair, body or really makeup to replenish but there are a few classics I want to add back into the rotation makeup-wise. The new Nars highlighters are very tempting despite that I own already one too many of their highlighters especially from the old formula.

Let me know what you have on your radar for the Sephora sale! I’d love to hear what has caught your eye or what you need to replenish on. Quick recap for the sale dates online and in store:
