Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist

March 28, 2018

Spring may have only just recently arrived, but I secretly have Summer on the brain already. It’s hard not to find yourself in a perpetual state of summertime bliss when you wake up to blue sunny skies and palm trees (almost) every morning. I like to call it the best side-effect of living in Las Vegas and I wouldn’t change it for anything in this world! If my wardrobe or year-round bronze-infused makeup looks weren’t an indicator enough of how much I love the warmer season, a quick look at my fragrance collection will tell you one thing: I like my scents light, warm and above all, summery. While I own a few fragrances that accurately envelope all of the amazonian vibes, there’s only one scent that truly encapsulates Summer, and that is Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist. This is that perfect sweet, sexy and sultry Summer fragrance that indeed feels like it instantly transports you to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, per their website description – and is an absolute must if you love their Bum Bum products!

I have been a religious user of Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum line for a very long time, and was super excited that they were able to properly bottle the delicious fragrance that is the Bum Bum Cream. Featuring top notes of: pistachio, almond; middle notes: heliotrope, jasmine petals; and dry notes: vanilla, salted caramel, sandalwood – the heavenly scented mist became an instant obsession and is part of my signature scent collective.

Strength-wise it’s quite a bit more potent than a typical body spray and lingers impressively well for a mist, although not as a long as an EDP or even a EDT, but I can smell it from morning until early evening especially when I layer it with the cream which makes the scent more concentrated. It’s warm and sensual without being overpowering so I can spritz generously without having to worry about overdoing it. I always get compliments whenever I wear this spray and legit have people running after me asking what I’m wearing. The fragrance is strong and intoxicating, much like a classic perfume, and nothing like a typical body mist which often time can be weak or predominantly smell like alcohol. For longevity reasons I wish they would make an actual perfume with the fragrance because I’d totally stock up on a couple bottles.

Bottom line, this is one of my best fragrance purchases ever. I wear it almost daily with intervals of my other favorite perfumes. It’s literally Summer in a bottle and is SO addictive, it gives me life 1000x over. I even spritz it onto my bed sheets so I can just smell it while I’m sleeping. Someone please stop me, lol. As fragrance is very personal and scents often differ from one person to the next due to body chemistry, I don’t think there is an actual universal kind of scent. Like other fragrances, this won’t be for everyone and I highly recommend finding a Sephora that carries a tester of this to try it out first. You can find the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist in two sizes: $19 / 3.04 oz – 90 mL, and $32 / 8.1 oz – 240 mL at Sephora. The one I have featured here today is the smaller size. I keep buying the smaller one because it is much more mobile friendly and I can carry it with me everywhere I go.
