Nars Easy Glowing Cheek Palette

March 5, 2018

New from Nars come the Easy Glowing Cheek Palettes ($49 / 0.12 oz – 3.5 g x 3). Available in two color varieties, Rêve Salé and Coucher de Soleil, the limited edition cheek palettes are exclusive to Nordstrom right now but will launch at other retailers later this Spring. I caught a preview of both palettes in January somewhere I believe and have been stalking them ever since. Seeing that I’m such a huge fan of the Banc de Sable palette, it was basically a no-brainer to pick up both of the new ones as soon as they hit Nordstrom’s website.

Formula-wise, Rêve Salé and Coucher de Soleil are identical to Banc de Sable (reviewed here). Both palettes feature three universally flattering highlighters designed to illuminate the eyes and cheeks, or anywhere else you want a little light boost. The three shades are designed to layer endlessly and illuminate all skin tones for a subtle veil of a radiant second-skin glow. These can be worn either wet or dry. I prefer to wear them dry on the actual face but wet on the eyes because I love the sheen and glossy finish. Formula is super soft and blendable. The texture of these feel slightly creamy and the pigment is smooth and easy to layer from a barely-there luster to a more intense, warming luminosity. Lasting power is the same as the previous launch. They will stay put and in place all day without becoming greasy, fading or oxidizing.

Rêve Salé

Rêve Salé is the lighter option out of the two. The palette has a neutral tone to it with (from left to right) Rêve Salé I: a warm pale gold; Rêve Salé II: a warm champagne peach with pink undertones; Rêve Salé III: a warm copper. For me and I suspect for most, Rêve Salé should work as a highlighter palette but may work as a blush alternate for those with fairer skin.

Coucher de Soleil

Coucher de Soleil is the deeper option out of the trios and features sunset-inspired tones. The colors include (from left to right) Coucher de Soleil I: a warm golden bronze; Coucher de Soleil II: a warm rosy copper; Coucher de Soleil III: a warm mauve plum. With the harmony of beautiful colors, this palette should be suitable for deeper skintones but lighter complexions could benefit from the shades working as highlighting blushes.

Bottom line, I’m 100% obsessed with both! Across the board all six colors are stunning and the formula is definitely among my top favorite. The texture is so unique, feeling and wearing like a cream so it melds flawlessly with the skin. I love that the shades can be water-activated as well, it’s like you’re getting a whole different palette since the finishes transform from a subtle shimmering veil to an almost metallic sheen. Either way you prefer, these highlighters were designed to work with the skin’s surface to instantly blend into the skin and create a supernatural glow.

Both of the Nars Easy Glowing Cheek Palettes are available now at Nordstrom.
