Best in Beauty 2017: Makeup

December 28, 2017

I would like to start off this post by thanking each and every single one you who followed me along on my beauty journey this past year. I feel incredibly blessed and am beyond grateful to have you guys be a part of my beauty obsessions. From the bottom of my heart, if it wasn’t for your passion fueling mine the blog would not be where it is today and I very much look forward to watching it grow more in the coming year. Speaking of which, I can hardly believe yet another year has flown by! Today I have a roundup of my 2017 makeup favorites with skincare to follow tomorrow. 2017 appeared to be the breakout year for brighter colors and focused quite heavily on lips, eyes and highlighters. As someone who appreciates complexion products, this past year was very light on bronzers and there were really not that many releases for it. Instead, my collection did grow more in both highlighters and lips. As always, I’d love to hear what your favorite makeup discoveries were for the year! Below I picked out items that were released in 2017 and organized them both into categories and alphabetical order by brand.

  • Tom Ford Lip Color new shade additions for Fall 2017 including All Mine, Bad Lieutenant, Naked Ambition and Spiced Honey (reviewed + swatched here) – were part of one of the best lipstick launches of the year. I splurged on four of the nude colors and they became instant staples. Luckily they are permanent to the line because I would not know what to do without them
  • Pat McGrath LiquiLust 007 Duo in Femme Moderne (reviewed + swatched here) – introduced me to the best liquid lipstick formula I’ve tried to date
  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Skin Deep (reviewed + swatched here) – was one of my most-reached for glosses for both color as well as formula

And that wraps up my favorite makeup products of this past year. I would love to hear what yours were! They can include new launches, new-to-you items, even rediscoveries! Feel free to share in the notes below.
