Kopari Coconut Crush Scrub

November 20, 2017

As much as I love Fall and Winter, I’m not that much of a fan of the common beauty issues that pop up during both seasons. The weather overall doesn’t get that bad in Vegas – but once we hit a steady stream of 60’s for the high, 30’s for the low and declining by the week, so the dry skin, lackluster hair, brittle nails, and chapped lips begin. With the cooling temperatures sucking all the moisture out of the air, the need for extra skincare boosts when it comes to body care are more essential than ever. When it comes to nourishing dry skin and bringing it back to life, there are two key elements you’ll always want to focus on: 1) exfoliation; 2) hydration. Healthy, moisturized skin starts with exfoliating as it removes the top layer of skin which contains dead skin cells that hinder the production of new cells, and rids any type of gunk or lingering buildup from soaps, lotions, etc. Aside from essentially superficially detoxing your skin, regular exfoliation also stimulates the blood flow, bringing back color to the surface while enforcing brighter, glowing skin. One of my favorite all-over body scrubs that I have been using since Summer is the Kopari Coconut Crush Scrub. Kopari is one of those brands where you’ll try one item and then feel like you need to switch your entire routine to their line because that’s how much you love their products. I first discovered the Kopari Coconut Melt earlier this Summer and as a devoted lover of anything coconut, I immediately fell in love with the line.

The Coconut Crush Scrub is a super hydrating body scrub infused with a unique blend of coconut oil, crushed Tahitian coconut shells and brown sugar to hydrate and buff dry, dull skin for a silky smooth, lit-from-within glow. This product is formulated without silicones, is non-GMO, cruelty-free, and safe to use on sensitive skin. It has fine to medium granules with a nice thick creamy base for effortless dispersing of product along the skin. The sugar portion dissolves after a little while of scrubbing and leaves the coconut bits to continue exfoliating for luxuriously soft skin. What makes this such a hydrating scrub is due to its base being coconut oil-infused, leaving the skin layered in a coat of moisture while buffing away any and all impurities. Kopari recommends you buff it onto dry skin and rinse but I’ve used it on both dry and wet skin and it works well either way. I will say beforehand that it can be quite hard to get anything squeezed out of the tube since coconut changes its consistency whether in cooler or warmer temperatures. Naturally when in cooler temps the consistency hardens so it requires a little warming up prior to have a fluid application. Leaving the tube in the shower easily takes care of that.

The scent is like pure heaven in a jar. Emphasis on pure. I love, love, LOVE anything coconut scented and this smells like vacation in a tube, so sweet yet subtle and is not overpowering.

Using gentle and circular motions on wet or dry skin (exfoliating too roughly or hard can cause little tears in the skin, nothing harmful but something be aware about), I perform a full-body scrub once a week. The Coconut Crush Scrub is the softest approach to clean, fresh skin that glows. I have noticed that with consistent use my skin is rapidly becoming softer and smoother on its own – no shave or exfoliating needed. I have not broken out or developed any red bumps like I have experienced in the past with some other scrubs. It now constantly feels like I’m completely clean-shaven all the time, the best feeling in the world if you ask me.

Bottom line, the Coconut Crush Scrub is simply wonderful. I’m already a huge fan of the Coconut Melt as well as the scrub and am still in the process of adding more of their products to my routines. Kopari’s products are literally those little discoveries that turn out to be holy grail additions the more you use it. If any of you babes have tried other items from their line, let me know in the notes how they worked for you!
