In the recent months I’ve been exploring more in skincare in anticipation of the humid weather we would eventually experience courtesy of monsoon season. With over-the-top heat, sweat, sunscreen and of course, humidity, during this time of year my pores are more prone to clogging especially around the hairline area as well as chin, not to mention, this is also the time of year when my skin has a tendency to become its absolute driest. It’s been quite a process, often harrowing, to find skincare that truly works and makes a noticeable difference that continues to improve with usage. Skincare remains a sensitive subject for me seeing as my skin is still actively temperamental towards certain ingredients, so I have to be extra careful with what I decide to apply from day to day – making it even more of a challenge to find products that work. Vernal Beauty recently reached out to me and asked if I would like to try anything from their line. Vernal Beauty is an organic skincare company and their products are made with a 100% organic formula that is USDA certified; derived from ORAC Scale-topping super-antioxidants, exotic cold-pressed oils, super-fruits and plant-based botanical extracts, all of which are ethically and sustainably sourced, as well as completely safe and non-toxic. Their mission statement as well as the product descriptions sounded right up my alley and so I gave the Hydra-Glow Multi-Benefit Serum ($46 / 1.0 oz – 30 mL) and SKINourish – Super Antioxidant Organic Moisturizer ($44 / 1.0 oz – 30 mL) a test run. I’ve been testing these for the past month, incorporating both into my weekly skincare routines, and have been beyond thrilled with the results so far.
The Hydra-Glow Multi-Benefit Serum is one of the best serums I’ve tried in a long time. This is a multi-benefit serum that combines the hydrating power of hyaluronic acid with the healing power of vitamin C to protect, repair and deliver a flawless, radiant glow. It’s a dual-function serum that was designed to maximize the delivery of vitamin C and other pure, potent ingredients by creating a humectant-rich hyaluronic veil that ensures lasting hydration and deeper absorption of antioxidants into the dermis. The serum combines hydration, brightening, anti-aging, anti-acne and firming properties while effectively balancing the skin. For someone who needs all of the aforementioned, being able to use this without any reaction is huge for me as it touches base with everything I look for in skincare these days. While my skin is normal/dry, it’s super temperamental and basically reacts immediately to anything it does not like. I found it gentle enough to use on my skin but your mileage may vary.
The Hydra-Glow Multi-Benefit Serum has what Vernal Beauty calls high-performing super antioxidants, including:
- Hyaluronic Acid – has ultra-hydrating abilities known to promote more nutrient absorption and penetrate the deepest levels of the dermis.
- Indian Gooseberry – is chock full of Vitamin C and anti oxidants. It takes charge of free radicals and repairs damaged skin while visibly lifting, toning and brightening.
Recommended use is daily. I’ve used this 5x per week since receiving it and I noticed results from the very first use. Skin looks and feels noticeably brighter and firmer. It appears to have taken care of the congested areas on the chin and around the cheek apples. Between sweat, humidity, rain and layers of sunscreen mixed with makeup, some days I can feel my skin becoming clogged. This serum has been a true skin saver to say the least and instantly takes care of congestion while veiling the complexion in a beautiful, soft glow. Three pumps is all I need to cover my entire face including the neck. The serum is fragrance-free and instead has this incredibly relaxing scent to it that comes from naturally derived plant-based organic ingredients – not chemicals. Sometimes I do detect a strong aloe vera undercurrent. The consistency is that of a thin gel and absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving skin looking and feeling completely renewed and refreshed.
After using the Hydra-Glow Multi-Benefit Serum, Vernal Beauty recommends you apply their Bee Radiant Organic Face Oil. Seeing that I am very hesitant of using any type of oil on my face, I skipped this step and went straight for their SKINourish – Super Antioxidant Organic Moisturizer. This is a lightweight moisturizer that feeds skin with superfruits, hydrates with exotic butters and provides natural cellular renewal, leaving skin smooth, nourished and glowing. With a high-performing super antioxidant blend of Sumac Berry and Mango, the multitasking moisturizer locks in moisture, banish signs of aging, increase elasticity, and diminish and prevent skin discoloration from acne, free radicals & sun damage with regular use.
I’ve been using this right after I apply the serum on days where I use both. One drop is really all I need to cover my entire face as well as neck area, gently massaging it into the skin. This has a thin consistency without any sticky after thought and absorbs quicky as well as evenly. I think this moisturizer has played a key role in improving texture and radiance as there has been a great shift in how my skin looks. See it this way, if your guy notices that your complexion looks better, chances are it really does. For reducing sun damage like spots, I suspect it will take much more time for them to noticeably fade and I kind of have high hopes that this will one will help them disappear over time. Having lived in Vegas my entire life, I do have my fair share of sun spots especially around top of the cheek/eye area and across the bridge of my nose.
Overall two winners in my book. Going forward these will remain in my weekly routines as they are just what I need to keep congestion at bay and help my skin to remain feeling firm and glowing. For those of you not familiar with Vernal Beauty or their products, they are a relatively new skincare company from Florida. After spending several years in the beauty industry, Vernal Beauty found that Mother Nature produces some of the most pure and powerful ingredients – many of which have been used as natural healers and restorative compounds for thousands of years. All of their formulas are original, tested by them on real people – never on animals – and made from scratch in small batches at their facilities in Canada. Their products are created with:
- USDA Certified Organic Ingredients
- Plant-Based Food-Grade Cold-Pressed Oils
- Steam Distilled Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils
- Recyclable Packaging
Their formulas contain no fillers of any kind, and they don’t use pre-made synthetic bases like many skincare brands do. This is the first organic skincare brand that I actually like enough to continue using as they deliver results while staying true to their mission. These products are pure love for me and I will be purchasing the remaining two products needed to care for the entire complexion. Yes, including the oil. All-in-all, two really big thumbs up!
If you’re interested in trying any of Vernal Beauty’s products, I’m very excited to announce that I have partnered up with them to bring a discount special code for IGM readers! Receive 20% off your purchase using code IGM20 at checkout – this code does not expire.
Many thanks to Vernal Beauty for sending these for review consideration. As always, opinions are my own.
