Sephora Beauty Insider Event

April 18, 2017

Beauty lovers rejoice because the Sephora Beauty Insider Event for Spring starts today with the VIB Rouge cycle officially kicking off the festivities! As a beauty junkie I look forward to Sephora’s sales and in preparation will spend weeks in advance curating lists of picks I really love before narrowing them down to a finalized edit. This particular season has posed quite a challenge to managing my drafts since there have been so many incredible launches thus far and I’ve found a lot of things I want. Today I have a roundup of some recommendations of my favorite picks that I have reviewed in the past as well as what is currently on my Loves list organized by category divided into makeup, skincare, fragrance, bath & body, etc.!

First things first, here are the Sephora sale details along with the codes:

4/18 – 4/24 – VIB Rouge receive 15% off, use code ROUGESPRING
4/19 – 4/24 VIBs receive 15% off, use code VIBSPRING
4/20 – 4/23 – BIs receive 10% off, use code BISPRING

Makeup Recommendations – Face & Cheeks

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush (all 4 shades reviewed here) – is a blush formula I’ve been really loving lately. In case you missed the Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette that was previously released over the Holiday season, Hourglass launched the individual shades from said palette + one brand new color. These really have my heart, I highly recommend them!

Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo in Reflects Gilt (reviewed here) – falls among my top highlighters of the season, if not the entire year it’s seriously that gorgeous.

Nars Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette (reviewed here) – is a palette with three, universally flattering highlighters to illuminate the eyes and cheeks and in my book ranks among the best for both a natural soft as well as an intense glow thanks to the wet/dry formula. The colors are exquisite, the quality is excellent and the palette is very well made in terms of versatility and portability.

Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 001 (reviewed here) – is another all-time favorite highlighter of mine. It’s the prettiest warm champagne beige with peachy undertones that has a beautiful sheen finish. I never tire of the radiant luminous complexion this gives me.

Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Dew You? (reviewed here) – has been my go-to for amping up the glow factor in my everyday foundation routine. This is a gorgeous warm golden-peach gel-cream hybrid complexion luminizer that pairs hydrating skincare ingredients with instant illumination. It can be worn as a liquid highlight and of course can be mixed in with foundation for an all-over luminous glow. I mix a tiny drop in with my foundation for a naturally radiant finish. When mixed in with foundation it does give a gorgeous healthy glow that lasts literally all day without changing the color of my foundation.

Makeup Recommendations – Eyes

Nars NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette – has been on my favorites list ever since it launched. It has a really good mix of high quality neutrals in shimmers and mattes for a soft or smokey eye.

Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color – are two-tiered eye palettes with two coveted formulas to create a lustrous and seductive, Summertime eye. I’ve been scouting cream-based eyeshadow formulas since the start of Spring and have not found anything that stands out to me. The Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Colors have been on my radar for such a long time but I find them grossly overpriced despite that I know they are so worth it in terms of general quality and the unique colors. I’m hoping to pick up at least one during this Sephora sale cycle.

Giorgio Armani Beauty Eye Tint – I fell in love with after seeing multiple swatches of the more neutral-based colors. They look super easy to use and I’ve heard so many people rave about them that it has spiked my interest to say the least.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Singles (reviewed here) – aside from MAC’s custom eyeshadow palettes (reviewed here), ABH comes in as a strong second for me. There are 84 colors available with a range of different textures covering shimmer, matte, metallic, satin and glitter. They are super pigmented but the textures are soft so they blend and layer easily for a more natural and diffused look with a flawless finish.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (reviewed here) – are some of my favorite eye liners to date. My go-to colors include Bourbon, Scorch, Smog and Underground, they’re such stunning soft neutrals perfect to wear with any eye look or smudged out for a smokey effect.

Makeup Recommendations – Lips

Tom Ford Clutch-Size Lip Balm (reviewed here) – are absolute must-haves this Summer. At first swipe these have a nice lush, moisturizing element that conditions the lips with a smooth jelly-like formula. Pigment is sheer to light but buildable, covering the lip entirely with a rounded bullet leaving behind a high-gloss shine.

Hourglass GIRL Lip Stylo (reviewed here) – are the perfect creamy lip color formula and one of my most-reached for daily lippies.

Dior Addict Lacquer Stick (reviewed here) – brings a new code of intense color and shine with an innovative formula that promises to provide the comfort of a moisturizing lip balm without compromising the potency of the color and equally the ultra glossy formula mirroring a glass-like finish. 550 Tease is my top favorite out of the three I own as it is the perfect warm pink nude.

Laura Mercier Lacquer Up Acrylick Lip Varnish – is a new launch from Laura Mercier’s Summer edit. These are patent-leather, wet-effect lip lacquer with sheer-to-full coverage that leaves an ultra-shine finish.

Bite Beauty Love, Bite Lip Set (reviewed here) – is one of the best value sets I’ve seen appear on Sephora in a while. The set includes a collectible tin, a travel-size mirror and three full-size lip products.

Skincare Recommendations

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior™ 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum – I tried as a sample for a few days and saw results almost instantly. I had these tiny fine lines starting at the corners of my mouth and after one use of this they were completely gone. It blew me away (like, blew me far away) but I found the price almost ridiculously expensive – however, with this sale it’s a great time to splurge while saving a little.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb (reviewed here) – is my everyday moisturizer for ultimate hydration. This one feels really nice to wear, leaves skin smooth, plump and luminous plus wears very well under makeup.

Youth To The People Age Prevention Superfood Eye Cream – I’ve heard quite a bit about and I’ve had it on my list for new-to-try eye creams since I am on the market for a new formula.

Belif First Aid 360 Eye Care Mask – is a leave-on, intensively moisturizing mask with a pudding-like texture that provides a 360-degree eye care for delicate and sensitive eye areas. Since I really love the effects and results of The True Aqua Bomb, if this works the same on my naturally dry eye area I will be set for life. It’s been virtually sold out ever since it launched on Sephora and I’m praying to the beauty gods it will be back in stock at some point today!

Amorepacific Resort Collection Sun Protection Travel Collection – is a sun protection set I’ve been eyeing quite a bit. It’s a travel set with a full-size sun stick for the most delicate areas of the face, a mini sun mist for the body, and a mini sun cushion for perfect all-over face protection. I’m mainly interested in the sun stick for the face since I am looking to incorporate an actual SPF product into my daily routine. In the past I have never had any luck with cream, mist or gel-based SPF for the face as they made me instantly break out but hopefully this stick will be a lot more lightweight and non-greasy so my skin can absorb it better.

Fragrance Recommendations

Tom Ford Orchid Soleil – I’ve been hoarding sample vials of because the scent is absolutely to die for and super long lasting.

Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne – Sephora literally just started carrying Jo Malone and I could not be happier. All the women in my family wear Jo Malone, including myself and my mother-in-law swears by the Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne. My personal favorite is still the Basil with Neroli (reviewed here) but I’ve been dying to try this one since it wears so well on her.

Wildfox Eau de Parfum – is such a fun and pleasant Summer scent that I discovered through a sample vial as well.  It’s not too floral, not too spicy or sweet but simply youthful, sultry and sexy while exuding freshness. I simply adore it.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White – is a sensual and feminine fragrance. To me it translates like peony with a hint of musk and the smallest amount of lily. I always get tons of compliments on it because it is a nice, light scent without being too floral or overly sweet. It definitely is a captivating scent.

Tom Ford Sole di Positano Eau de Parfum – is a new fragrance launch by Tom Ford and has received quite a bit of rave already. In the spirit of Summer I have been looking to switch up my scents to capture more of the tropical, island paradise mood and this one is at the top of my list.

Bath & Body Recommendations

L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Milk Concentrate – got my attention when recently I was swatching some products on my arm that were very difficult to remove and I found myself literally having to scrub it off. The next morning my arm was red, super dry and had a scaled texture. After trying countless lotions and even coconut oil over the course of a week, nothing seemed to restore my skin back to its normal self. One night before going to bed I noticed I had a deluxe sample of this sitting on my nightstand and decided to massage it in – literally the next morning my skin had improved and by the second morning it was back to normal. Since my skin becomes so dry and flaky during the Summer, I have a suspicion this will be the remedy to keeping my body moisturized, radiant and healthy-looking.

Coola Sport Continuous Spray SPF 30 in Tropical Coconut (reviewed here) – is one my favorite sunscreen formulas. I really like the fact that this sunscreen has a lot of great skin benefiting properties and that it is Sport as well. The product has a sweet coconut smell and makes the skin look moisturized. I will have a SPF roundup coming shortly as I go through testing one more before finalizing my picks.

Kopari Coconut Melt – Kopari is a brand I’ve been hearing a lot about and being a lover of all things coconut, they definitely have me intrigued as their entire line is coconut-based!

Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish (reviewed here) – has become a bathroom staple in our house thanks to its hydrating powers and for leaving the skin revitalized and super smooth. It contains a highly moisturizing and gently exfoliating blend of virgin coconut oil and delicately floral Moroccan rose to leave skin soft and hydrated. It exfoliates really well removing dead skin cells unveiling skin that glows and looks nourished. It has a nice emollient base which makes it easy to navigate any area of the body without leaving a greasy film.

Tocca Scented Candle in Cleopatra – because I’ve been looking to add just a few more Spring and Summer inspired scents to our home. This one is inspired by the Mediterranean seductress, Cleopatra and is infused with the crisp, fresh scent of juicy grapefruit and soothing cucumber used in the legendary queen’s beauty rituals.

And that wraps up my top picks as well as recommendations for this Sephora sale. I’m still fine-tuning my own personal list before I finalize and put in my order. This time around I surprisingly don’t have as much makeup to covet but quite a bit of skincare that I’d like to try instead – actually, the amount of skincare on my Loves list is one strand short of shocking. There have been some amazing makeup launches recently however, all are mainly availabe on other sites I frequent as opposed to Sephora. Let me know what you have on your wishlist for the Sephora sale. I’d love to hear what you have on your radar and if you have any recommendations by all means leave them in the notes!
