The latest addition to the Kevyn Aucoin Neo line is The Neo Highlighter in Sahara ($58 / 0.74 oz – 21 g). It’s a permanent three-in-one palette that includes the three bestselling Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder highlighters: Candlelight, Starlight, and Sunlight, blending a soft champagne, gilded rose, and sheer golden powder together in one large universal highlighting palette. I have bought a few more select items from Kevyn Aucoin since my first post of the The Celestial Bronzing Veil (reviewed here) made its debut and I have to say that I’ve become a fan. This is my first time around with a Neo palette and the addition of this travel-friendly highlighting palette is just pure heaven for the glow junkie (or for me at least).
The Celestial Powders are highly-pigmented, ultra finely milled powders with a smooth medium-level shimmer factor. The shimmers are apparent but look very natural on the skin. In the pan all the colors look neutral and have a beautiful yellow/golden wash that warms and illuminates the complexion. Whether used separately or blended together, these give a lovely glow that is by no means a “seen from space” highlight – however, impart a soft and subtle multi-dimensional luminosity for a radiant effect with amazing lasting power. Individual or blended, the highlighters wore gorgeously on me from early morning until evening.
A look at the color selection
Candlelight – is a warm light champagne beige that has a soft golden cast
Starlight – is a warm peach with a very light tinge of pink undertones
Sunlight – is a warm gold with brown undertones

While I’m still relatively new to the brand, I feel that this palette is absolutely amazing and of the same high quality that I’ve experienced in accordance with the small Kevyn Aucoin collection I have. The powders are smooth and blend out perfectly on the skin without patches, fallout or emphasizing the pores and natural skin texture. Instead, I found that the overall texture harmonizes beautifully with the face and last all day without fading. If there is any flaw with the palette that I could highlight it would be that there is a ton of powder kick-up due to the fact that it is so, so very finely milled. However, it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me. The price of this highlighting palette is phenomenal, you get quite a bit of product for $58. Individually the compacts retail for $44 each (0.11 oz – 3 g), making this palette a great value and even a better introduction to the Kevyn Aucoin cult status Celestial Powders.
Besides Sahara, Kevyn Aucoin also released The Neo Limelight in Ibiza which is another three-in-one highlighting palette that ranges from a light iridescent pink all the way to a purple shade. You can find both online at Sephora.com as well as in stores.
