Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush In Candy Glow
Too Faced is one of those brands that I’m low-key completely in love with. My first Too Faced purchase was this small compact containing 3 of their best selling bronzers: Chocolate Soleil, Sun Bunny and Snow Bunny – as well as a limited edition highlighting shade. It’s actually thanks to this face powder medley that my obsession with bronzer was sparked and the general category was love at first application. Since that initial purchase years ago, I’ve owned quite a bit of their staple bronzers as well as ventured out into the rest of their makeup line touching base with various products and being blown away by them every single time. Too Faced is simply good and I’ve yet to encounter something that did not please me in any sort of way. A while ago I picked up their Sweethearts Bronzer in Sweet Tea – reviewed here – and in that same shopping trip I also swooped up the Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow ($30 / 0.19 oz).
Candy Glow, like the other 3 colorful shades available, comes in 3 sections and are described as a rose pink shimmer, a soft coral pink and a peachy pink shimmer. The 3 sections can be mixed together for a beautiful luminous flush with a tint of highlight, or can be used individually/in combination with another for your own “custom flush or highlight.” There are a total of 4 color options – I swatched each at the store and all have smooth textures with impressive pigment, not to mention the gorgeous glow. One swipe gives a good amount of pigment but once blended out become a little sheerer in coverage. Personally, I prefer my blushes to be a little on the sheerer side because it’s a product that is so easy to overdo. Usually one swipe gives me the exact amount of pigment I need to give my face life by adding just enough color. With so many pigmented blushes you have to be careful and apply with a light hand because once the pigment sucks to the skin it’s really hard to hit CTRL+Z and start over. I would say that the same counts for the Candy Glow blush – apply with a light hand first and then layer for desired intensity. Due to the texture of this blush being so smooth, I am thoroughly impressed with how easy it is to blend while still maintaining its color and luminosity without fading.
The blush seems to be a hybrid of blush and highlighter rolled into one. It’s definitely easy to wear it alone as a blush because it has enough color and pigment to do so. On the other hand, after playing with it for the last few weeks, I found it a bit difficult to justify any of the 3 individual sections as a highlight with the exception of the peach variety. All contain too much color with not enough sheen in order to function as that on my skin tone – the peachy color on the other hand does contain more luminosity so it’s totally feasible to rock it as a highlighter.
Lasting power is phenomenal as it stays put and in place from morning to night. I love how the product feels on the skin – light and airy with a soft, creamy feel. I did not spot any oxidizing/darkening in the color but that is because I applied the product with a light hand. When accidentally applying a pigmented blush with a heavy hand or layering product too much can result in the color darkening as the hours progress. Even though the 3 sections are all on the slight shimmery side and contain very small particles of glitter, this blush does not emphasize the pores, the skin’s natural texture or any other imperfections.

Bottom line, this is another Too Faced hit in my book. I am impressed with the overall formula of this blush – how nicely colored the sections are, the pigment and luminosity, plus how easy this product is to blend. While you can wear the 3 individual colors on their own or in combination with another and are super wearable, I love to mix the 3 together for an all-over gorgeous glow. I love anything glow as most of you already know. The pigment is nice and rich but very easy to blend out for those, like me, who like a more natural look. It has amazing lasting power and just performs really well. Definitely a new top contender in my blush collection!
