Mornings are typically hectic for me, borderline chaotic. A typical morning in my life is a house bustling at 5AM, a dog’s nose smooshing my face because he’s awake, phone going crazy with emails and my calendar echoing the events of the day. All-in-all, a recipe for never wanting to abandon my bed. On certain days I forfeit priorities and tend to extend the caffeine IV drip a little longer than I was supposed, leading to a sense of urgency to head out the door in a rush to get to meetings or events. Always on the go. When I do get my priorities mixed up, it previously directed me to skip on certain aspects of my daily beauty routine, whether that was in skincare, doing my hair or even worse, my makeup. The coordination process on those kind of mornings consumed too much of my time, I needed to simplify, go back to basics and condense the use of multiple palettes and products, but still look glamorous and polished in the end. A tall order. At least that was the case until the Charlotte Tilbury company sent me this lovely gift of gorgeous palettes. They instantly took the anxiety of not looking pulled-together away, and now I never have to forfeit my priorities again. Even when I mindfully spend more time with my coffee than I should.

Designed as an easy look in a palette, each one of the five collection varieties contain a cream eyeshadow and a multipurpose lip/cheek tint channeling superstar heroins from Charlotte’s favorite Old Hollywood films. Packed inside the luxurious, rose gold retro casings are instant looks that literally only require two simple steps from start to finish sans makeup brushes. Yes, it’s as simple as using your fingers, which makes these palettes amazing for when being in a rush or for being on the go especially when having to transition from lunch to dinner and drinks within a snap. I keep at least two on my person for when being out and about.

But the exterior is not the only beautiful aspect about the palettes, it are definitely the metallic shadows and tinted polishes inside that deserve all the applause. Beyond lustrous and luxurious, the sheer shades are very dimensional and buildable upon preference melting like butter into the skin. An absolute dream to blend. What stood out to me the most right from the get-go, besides the color payoff and workability, was how hydrating the creams felt on the skin. Normally cream products are often overlooked because the formula leaves something to the imagination, but each one of these shades felt moisturizing and sat pleasantly on the skin for prolonged hours. Clocking 6 for the eyeshadow, well beyond 8 for the cheek tint, and about 3 for the lips with sipping and snacking included. The lip and cheek tint from this line is one of the very few multipurpose products that I have found works on both ends of the spectrum. Of the norm is that either one is too sticky on the cheeks, the other too drying on the lips or vice versa. The lip tint felt like a normal lipstick and the blush functioned like a regular cream blush.

Aside from being a handbag essential, hello have you seen that mirror, it has become an absolute all-in-one effortless makeup solution for me. On those mornings where I hover around the coffeemaker too long or when I need to go somewhere on the fly from A-B, this is the perfect versatile, foolproof pocket assistant to have with you. It’s been a bit strange adjusting to not reach for multiple products in the morning because it almost feels like something is missing, but yet there’s not since the major components of what makes/breaks a look sits right there in front of you. It’s a good strange … and almost a little naughty.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Inspired by Holly Golightly, a.k.a. Audrey Hepburn, the palette contains a shimmering bronze eyeshadow and a apricot lip/cheek tint. Perfect for a soft daytime look incorporating just a hint of emphasized glam. Would work on all skin tones.

Some Like It Hot – Inspired by the 1959 namesake movie starring Marilyn Monroe, the palette contains a combination of golden/green-brown eyeshadow and peachy lip/cheek tint. A great option for nighttime glamour during the colder seasons, this would work perfectly during the Summer to enhance the sunkissed goddess look during the daytime. Would work on all skin tones.

The Spy Who Loved Me – Inspired by Barbara Bach from the 1977 James Bond movie, Barbara’s role as a Russian spy catapulted her as an international sex symbol. The ultimate Bond girl, if you will. The palette contains a rose gold eyeshadow with a berry-hued lip and cheek tint, great for daytime Winter as well as for dramatic Summer evening looks. Would work on all skin tones, perhaps better on darker tones.
