As you know, my skin turned on me after I sabotaged it by trying to use e.v.o.o. as a facial oil, and literally woke up one day with my cheeks riddled in clogged pores that manifested itself as small, skin-colored bumps multiplying by the dozen. After trying many home remedies, pouring cash into a multitude of products that didn’t even remotely work, my final hope was to get an actual facial and let a professional go to work on whatever was happening here. You don’t know, but I rocked myself to sleep crying many times because I thought at a given point that these things were permanent and I was rendered to live with a bumpy texture all over my face, forever. Given that paying good money for a luxury facial was my last resort, I was so paranoid that something could anger the beast even further and wreck my skin beyond repair that I opted out of that as well. I didn’t trust anything or anyone. Over the years I have read many articles about microdermabrasion, and this was in fact the treatment I would’ve been going for was I not so skiddish about getting a facial. Browsing Sephora I stumbled upon an at-home microdermabrasion treatment by Bliss, and not having anything to lose at this point I bought it on a whim hoping for the best. Sometimes you just gotta throw your hands in the air, right?
If there are a few takeaways from my painful exploration of premier skin clearing treatments it’s that all products are not made for every skin type even when it says it is, and just because something has an over $100 sticker on it, definitely doesn’t mean it will work. TRUST me, I wish you could see the agony on my face. Or rather on my bank statement. Not one to ignore the possibility of enlightening someone’s world or making them aware of a good product that actually works, consider the Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment my holy grail exfoliator. Hell apparently does freeze over because I stopped using my DIY exfoliating recipe ever since I started using this twice a week. And twice was all it took for this gentle exfoliator to hugely improve my skin’s texture, having reduced down 75% of the little bumps to minor inconveniences that seized multiplying at the same time. The Bliss Microdermabrasion treatment contains powerful and soothing ingredients that scrub away dead skin cells and any leftover impurities that may contaminate your pores that regular face washing couldn’t get. While the Aloe and mushroom extract reduce inflammation and calms the skin while peppermint extract refreshes and revitalizes. It did not specifically state it would target a skin issue like mine and I didn’t have much hope for it to work, but it did and it blew me away.
Though let the record show that I am kind of a snob when it comes to using natural ingredients more than processed especially so in masks and exfoliators, sometimes I have to concede that manufactured products just work better. Time upon time of using my go-to scrub, it left me hearbroken because it worked to NO avail. I could scrub until dear life depended on it, it just did not budge and sometimes it even seemed to aggravate the condition. After the first usage of the Bliss treatment there was immediate result not just due to the significant difference in my skin’s texture but also how refreshed it felt afterwards. The micro grains are like that of sand so it is very gentle and not as harsh as other exfoliators tend to be, and because they are so small it really feels like you’re sweeping away all of the impurities by getting into every nook and cranny, if you will. Afterwards when I applied my serum and moisturizer my skin never felt as soft or as smooth as it did then. The added benefit comes from the peppermint infusion, giving skin this wonderful tingling feeling all over without burning or irritating, which the peppermint felt like it really hit the refresh button on my skin. Another aspect I very much adore about this exfoliator is that it doesn’t dry out skin, rather it feels like the creamy consistency moisturizes instead of depleting hydration and stripping my face from the essentials.
Before I started using the Bliss Treatment, it had literally almost been a full 3 months since I could touch my face and actually feel my face as opposed a layer of micro-sized bumps all over. At a certain point I had lost all hope that I would ever feel my face again how it was prior, luckily I finally found a product that has proactively assisted me in the proverbial war I waged on my skin at the start of this thing. Seriously, I would kiss whoever came up with this in a heartbeat. Very effective and highly recommended for girls suffering the same skin fate or those who are looking for a good exfoliator to add to their regime.
